Prayer of the Day for Today Based on Colossians 3:1

Prayer of the Day for Today Based on Colossians 3:1

Heavenly Father, I come before You with a humble heart, grateful for the gift of life and for the hope we have in Christ. Your Word calls me to remember that if I am risen with Christ, then my life is meant to look upward, toward what is holy, lasting, and true. When my mind feels crowded with worries, distractions, regrets, or uncertainty, gently lift my eyes back to You.

Lord, Help Me Seek What Is Above

Teach me, Lord, to seek the things that are above, where Christ sits at Your right hand. In a world that often pulls my attention in many directions, help me not to be ruled by fear, pride, or the passing concerns of this life. Instead, form in me a steady heart that longs for Your presence, Your truth, and Your will. Let my thoughts be shaped by heaven’s hope and my choices be guided by Your wisdom.

When I feel weak, remind me that my life is held in Christ. When I feel uncertain about the future, help me trust that You are faithful even when I cannot see the full path ahead. I do not ask for a life without struggle, but for grace to remain faithful in the middle of it. Give me courage to pray, patience to wait, and peace to rest in Your care.

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Colossians 3:1

Lord, purify my desires. Help me release what is temporary so I can embrace what is eternal. Let my words reflect kindness, my actions reflect humility, and my heart reflect the compassion of Christ. Where I have been distracted, draw me back. Where I have grown weary, strengthen me. Where I have felt distant from You, remind me that You are near and that Your mercy is new.

This is a scripted prayer for today, yet You know every unique burden and longing in my heart. Meet me in the quiet places of my soul and teach me to live as one who belongs to Christ. May my life today point upward, not to myself, but to the Savior who reigns in glory.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
